Steel Foreman

Role Overview

Austin Realty seeks a hands-on Steel Foreman with 6–10 years of experience to supervise reinforcement steel work at construction project sites in Pune. STEEL WORK SUPERVISION • Supervise cutting, bending, binding and fixing of reinforcement steel in accordance with structural drawings. • Verify bar placement, spacing, lap lengths, cover and anchorage. • Coordinate reinforcement for footings, columns, beams, slabs and shear walls. MANPOWER MANAGEMENT • Allocate daily work to steel fixers, bar benders and helpers; monitor attendance and productivity. • Coordinate with site engineers and other foremen to meet schedules and ensure sufficient manpower and tools. QUALITY CONTROL • Check reinforcement before inspections and concrete pouring; verify diameters, quantities, spacing and binding. • Rectify discrepancies and minimize steel wastage through correct storage and handling. MATERIAL AND SITE COORDINATION • Coordinate requirements with site engineers and stores; monitor steel consumption, cutting schedules and scrap. • Report shortages, delays and site needs. SAFETY AND PROGRESS • Enforce PPE and site safety procedures; maintain an organized work area. • Report daily progress, deployment and delays; coordinate pre-concreting inspections. PERFORMANCE PRIORITIES Quality and accuracy, timely execution, manpower productivity, wastage control and safety compliance.
